After reading about health and wellness, we found that we were starting to understand more about how diet can affect health. Discovering that food could both heal and provide full nutrition.
More research has led us back to the source of human nutrition, back to our ancestral diet. We looked into eating the way our ancestors ate, primarily animal products, and discovered that the organ meat is the most nutrient dense food on the planet.
Our diets and health status were seriously lacking, we were both tired all the time with high blood pressure, bad sleeping habits, and me, overweight- I just could not lose that surplus fat. I always thought I ate well and I worked out regularly, yet , I had a low level fatigue that I just couldn’t shake.
We both decided to try a Ketogenic diet. A high fat, moderate protein and low carb way of eating. We ate above ground plants and occasionally a fermented dough bread. This was nearly three years ago; we both noticed an improvement in our energy levels and body composition, but it wasn’t radical.
In December 2018, the carnivore diet came across our paths and we decided to jump in and give it a go. What we read and the podcasts from the “carni gurus” left us with a huge motivation and reason to move to locally sourced animal based eating.
The earth has been sustaining animals for millennia, and the nutrients we receive from animals are 100% available to the human animal. The organ meats are so nutrient dense that including them in the diet has shown to increase cognition, strength and endurance, as well as many other benefits.
Many people have discovered that removing plants from their diet have eliminated their autoimmune issues and there has been changes in the mental health of others.
For us, the carnivore diet has been a game changer.
THE RESULTS
The first thing I noticed was the vitality; I stepped into a body that could run, walk, and dance, without pain and fatigue post exercise. The clarity that came with the removal of plants was amazing. Wow, my insides are finally peaceful! No running to the loo with urgency. No abdominal pain. No bloating or excessive water retention. I’m working effortlessly now and I’m feeling ‘ALIVE’.
Removing plants from your diet is a major paradigm shift. However, what I have learnt is that there is value from eating nose to tail.
